Love [me] Tender: Photography, limited edition prints.

This series of intimate self-portraits has been a long time coming... it was my sister who was the "pretty one"... the "thin one"... the "smart one"... I grew up in her shadow... I was her little sister... never quite matching up to her, never able to be mom's "favorite"... These are painful thoughts, years of feeling self-loathing... today I took these photos of myself with love and forgiveness, and thoughts of "I am beautiful"... chubby, but beautiful... more

Vernissage May 20th, 2010 | 6-9pm

Quebec has long shrugged off its strait-jacket on traditional sexual mores; at least two generations have gyrated their way through the sexual revolution that followed in the wake of the public renunciation of the hypocrisy of the Catholic Church. Yet positive, broadly representative, love-inspired sexual imagery can still be hard to find.

Twenty seven Quebec artists will express their feelings and thoughts on eroticism, romanticism, love, and sexuality in an evening of art and poetry entitled Hot Art: Explorations in Erotica.

L’art chaud
