I say contemplative because most of Mary's production is not for the quick first impression – the layering of symbols and meanings is dense and rich, and appreciating that requires time. Finally, it's the way Mary sees. She has an insightful way of looking at art. She goes right to the heart, to the essence, and leaves enthusiastic, touching and articulated comments.
