I usually work in series, so at any given session I will work on several pieces in sequence, until I am spent. Why? Because I believe that the energy of the moment is pure. I cannot come back and work over the same piece(s) at another time because I feel that I am a different person with different concerns and so to work again on a piece would be like diluting (or confusing) the purity of the creation. I capture the energy of the moment… that’s where the power lies.

Je travaille habituellement par séries, sur plusieurs œuvres à la fois, jusqu’à l’épuisement. Pourquoi? Parce que je crois à l’énergie pure du moment. Je ne peux modifier une œuvre après coup, car je ne suis plus la même personne, je n’ai plus les mêmes intérêts et préoccupations. J’entraverais la pureté de ma création. Je capture la vitalité de l’instant, où se trouve toute la puissance.
